  • 1 cup Pepperoni Choose your favorite brand or turkey pepperoni.
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded Freshly shredded melts beautifully; pre-packaged works too.
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese Adds creaminess; low-fat version is an option.
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning Consider using fresh herbs for added flavor.
  • 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes Adjust based on your spice preference.
  • 1 each Egg, beaten For brushing the pinwheels for a golden finish.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it forms a rectangular shape.
  • In a bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes until smooth and creamy.
  • Evenly spread the cheese mixture over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Layer the pepperoni slices over the cheese mixture generously.
  • Tightly roll the dough into a log, starting from one long edge.
  • Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1-inch thick pinwheels.
  • Place the pinwheels on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush the tops with the beaten egg.

Baking

  • Bake for 15 minutes, or until the pinwheels are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes. For a vegan twist, use dairy-free cheese.
