  • 1 lb Smoked sausage Choose your favorite variety or substitute with turkey sausage.
  • 1 small Cabbage Green or savoy cabbage works beautifully.
  • 1 cup Bell peppers Red, yellow, or jalapeños can be used.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for flavor.
  • 1 medium Onion Sauté until golden.
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce Tamari works for gluten-free.
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil For sautéing.
  • to taste Black pepper Freshly cracked.

Preparation

  • Slice the sausage, shred the cabbage, and dice the onion and bell peppers.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sausage and cook until browned and slightly crispy, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the onion and garlic, cooking for 2 minutes before adding the bell peppers and cabbage.
  • Stir everything together, allowing the cabbage to wilt and peppers to soften, about 5 minutes.
  • Add soy sauce and black pepper, mixing well and removing from heat once cooked to your liking.

Serving

  • Serve the stir-fry warm on plates and enjoy.

Notes

This dish can easily be adapted with various vegetables. Try adding zucchini, carrots, or any leftover veggies. For added spice, include crushed red pepper flakes.
