Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey) Use 80/20 for that juicy flavor.
  • 4 slices cheese (American or cheddar) For that gooey, melty goodness.
  • 4 pieces buns (or lettuce wraps) A fun base for your ingredients.
  • 1 cup pickles Adds a delightful crunch and tang.
  • 2 medium tomatoes Freshen up the bowl with juicy slices.
  • 1 medium onion (raw or caramelized) For added sweetness and depth.
  • 1 cup lettuce (optional) For a bit of freshness.
  • 1/4 cup ketchup Must-have condiment.
  • 1/4 cup mustard Must-have condiment.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Dice your tomatoes and onions, and set out your cheese and other toppings.
  • Place a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Let it get nice and hot.

Cooking

  • Take a handful of ground beef and shape it into a loose ball (about the size of a golf ball).
  • Once the pan is hot, place the beef balls on it, and use a flat spatula to smash them down.
  • Let it cook for about 3-4 minutes, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Flip the patties and immediately add a slice of cheese on top. Cover the skillet with a lid to help it melt beautifully.

Assembly

  • While the cheese is melting, grab your bowls and lay down your base of buns or lettuce.
  • Place your cheesy patties on top of the base and start adding the toppings you love: pickles, tomatoes, onions, and any condiments you fancy.
  • Dig into your Smash Burger Bowl and let the flavors transport you to burger heaven.

Notes

Feel free to swap out any of the ingredients based on your preferences. Veggie burgers, avocado, or even jalapeƱos can be fantastic additions.
