Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or turkey, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Cooking

  • Layer half of the cabbage at the bottom of your slow cooker. Then, spoon half of the meat mixture over the cabbage.
  • Top with the remaining cabbage, followed by the rest of the meat mixture.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
  • Once it's done cooking, give everything a gentle stir to combine, and serve warm.

Notes

This dish is perfect for meal prep! Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. You can freeze portions for up to 3 months. For reheating, a quick spin in the microwave or a gentle warming on the stove will bring the flavors back to life.
