Preparation

  • Cut the pork shoulder into large chunks and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl, mix together the pineapple chunks (with juice), soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  • Place the pork in the slow cooker and pour the pineapple sauce over it, making sure every piece is well-coated.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Once cooked, use two forks to shred the pork in the cooker, mixing it into the sauce for maximum flavor.

Serving

  • Serve topped with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for a beautiful presentation.

Notes

This dish is even better the next day! Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can also freeze the shredded pork in portions for a quick meal. For extra flavor, sear the pork before slow cooking.
