  • 4-5 lbs Pork Shoulder Ideal cut for juicy pulled pork.
  • 1 large Onion Chopped for a sweet, savory base.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced for aromatic punch.
  • 2 cups BBQ Sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade.
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar Adds tangy twist.
  • Spices (paprika, black pepper, salt) To taste.
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes, brown sugar For added flavor.

Preparation

  • Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  • Place the pork shoulder into the slow cooker and season generously with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Scatter the chopped onion and garlic over the pork.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar, then pour it over the pork.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker. Set on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  • Once cooked, remove the pork and shred it using two forks.
  • Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the remaining sauce.

Notes

For variations, you can add jalapeƱos for heat or replace BBQ sauce with a spice rub. Serve on buns with coleslaw and classic sides for a perfect meal.
