  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup This is your magic glue; a homemade version can be used.
  • Salt to taste salt Don't skimp on seasoning!

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage, breaking it apart until browned.
  • Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onions become translucent.
  • Slice the potatoes thinly (about 1/4 inch thick) and trim the ends off the green beans, then add them to the sausage mixture.
  • In a large bowl, mix the sausage and vegetable medley with the cream of mushroom soup until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of the casserole.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to settle.

Notes

For a healthier option, swap out regular sausage for turkey sausage and use low-fat cream of mushroom soup. Adding fresh herbs can enhance the flavor.
