Ingredients

Dough and Fillings

  • 14 oz Pizza Dough Store-bought, homemade, or crescent roll dough.
  • 4 oz Pepperoni Can substitute with salami or cooked sausage.
  • 1.5 cups Mozzarella Cheese Shredded; substitute with dairy-free option for lactose-free.
  • 0.5 cup Pizza Sauce For dipping and adding flavor.
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning Oregano and basil can be used instead.
  • 1 egg Egg Wash For the golden sheen.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick.
  • Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce across the dough, leaving about an inch around the edges.
  • Layer the pepperoni evenly on top, followed by mozzarella cheese and a dash of Italian seasoning.
  • Gently roll the dough away from you into a log, keeping it tight but not overly compressing the fillings.
  • Slice the rolled dough into 1-inch pieces and place them cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the top of each roll.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

For variations, consider adding sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, or using cheddar/pepper jack cheese. Store uneaten rolls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
