  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts You can use thighs if you prefer dark meat.
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce Or tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar Or lemon juice for a brighter flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Or avocado oil.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Optional.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and chop the garlic.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  • Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown on one side.
  • Flip the chicken over and cook for another 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
  • While the chicken cooks, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar in a bowl and stir until mixed.
  • Once the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F), pour the honey garlic mixture over it, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens.
  • Remove from heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Serve garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Feel free to add red pepper flakes or sriracha for a spicy twist. You can also add snap peas or bell peppers for added nutrition.
