Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 12 ounces pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or penne)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter for ultimate creaminess
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced for aroma
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth use low-sodium if preferred
  • 1 cup heavy cream for luxurious creaminess
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese plus more for serving
  • 1 handful fresh parsley, chopped to brighten the dish
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Listen for the satisfying sizzle as it melts.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.
  • Pour in the broth and bring it to a gentle boil.
  • Add the pasta, stirring gently to ensure it doesn't stick. Cover the pot and cook according to the pasta package instructions, usually around 8–10 minutes, until al dente.
  • Once the pasta is cooked, reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, then finish with fresh parsley.
  • Serve immediately with extra Parmesan on the side.

Notes

For a lighter option, swap heavy cream with half-and-half or add sautéed spinach. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days; reheat gently on the stove.
