Ingredients

For the sliders

  • 12 pieces slider rolls or small dinner rolls soft, slightly sweet; brioche works beautifully.
  • 8 ounces sliced ham thinly sliced for layering; swap for turkey or roast chicken for a leaner option.
  • 10 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, sliced melts into golden goodness; use Swiss or Gruyere for a nuttier flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted brushes the tops and adds that irresistible golden crust.
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard brightens the richness; substitute whole-grain mustard for texture.
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds optional, for bakery-style finish.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder adds cozy depth; fresh minced garlic (1 clove) is a fine swap.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup a hint of sweetness to balance savory notes.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped for garnish and freshness.
  • Nutritional yeast optional, adds cheesy flavor without dairy for lighter versions.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 baking pan lightly.
  • Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally and arrange the bottom halves in the pan.
  • Layer ham evenly across the rolls, folding slices so each bite has meat.
  • Layer cheese over the ham, then place the top halves of the rolls on.
  • In a small bowl, whisk melted butter, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and honey until glossy. Brush generously over the rolls.
  • Cover the pan loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5–8 minutes until the tops are golden.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with parsley, slice between each slider, and serve warm.

Notes

Swap ham for smoked turkey or thin roast beef for a different flavor. Make spicy by adding sriracha to the butter. Add pickles or caramelized onions for extra flavor. Use low-fat cheese and whole grain rolls for a healthier version. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days.
