Preparation

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks, letting it brown for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion turns translucent, about 3 minutes.
  • Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat the beef evenly and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • While the beef is cooking, preheat your taco shells according to package instructions, or warm them in the oven.
  • Spoon the beef mixture into each taco shell and top generously with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and salsa.
  • Present your Old School Beef Tacos on a platter and serve warm.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store the beef mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
