Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Look for high-quality chicken for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For that luscious texture; substitute with coconut milk for a lighter version.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Choose low sodium to control the saltiness.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Adds richness; feel free to use butter instead for extra flavor.
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced A key player in building the depth of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Adds a subtle sweetness.
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs A blend of basil, oregano, and thyme elevates the dish.
  • to taste Salt and black pepper Essential for bringing all the flavors together.
  • for garnish Fresh parsley A splash of color and freshness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. Ensure each piece is well coated.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and let it heat until shimmering.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the skillet, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they’re golden brown.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for about 3 minutes, scraping any brown bits from the bottom of the pan.
  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, onion powder, and dried Italian herbs. Allow the sauce to thicken for about 5 minutes.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over each piece, and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Plate your Melt in Your Mouth Chicken and sprinkle fresh parsley on top for a pop of color.

Notes

Consider using Greek yogurt instead of heavy cream for a lighter version. Fresh herbs can also replace dried ones for freshness. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
