  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh or frozen; cooked shrimp can be used to save time.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh or frozen; thaw if using frozen.
  • 1/4 cup honey Maple syrup can be used as an alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Use tamari for gluten-free option.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Infuses dish with flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Avocado oil is a good substitute.
  • to taste salt and pepper Pinch of red pepper flakes optional for heat.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, drizzle in the olive oil. Let it warm up, then add the minced garlic.
  • Sauté broccoli florets in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes until they brighten in color and start to soften slightly.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and firm up, about 3-4 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour this mixture over the shrimp and broccoli, stirring to coat.
  • Cook for an additional minute or two until the sauce thickens slightly.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of water or broth.
