Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Meat Use beef for a classic taste or turkey for a healthier option.
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Fresh breadcrumbs work wonderfully, or gluten-free breadcrumbs are an excellent substitute.
  • 1 large Egg Acts as a binder; consider a flax egg for a vegan option.
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped finely for flavor; shallots are a lovely alternative.
  • 2 cloves Fresh Garlic For depth; you could swap with garlic powder if needed.
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce Homemade or store-bought, look for a brand with natural ingredients for the best flavor.
  • 1 tsp Salt Always a necessity; feel free to adjust based on your taste preference.
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Freshly cracked black pepper elevates the flavor.
  • Parsley For garnish; fresh herbs add that touch of brightness at the end.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat Your Oven: Set it to 400°F (200°C).
  • Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Shape the Meatballs: With your hands, form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cooking

  • Bake: Place the meatballs in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and cooked through.
  • Prepare the BBQ Sauce: While the meatballs bake, heat your BBQ sauce in a saucepan over low heat.
  • Combine: Once the meatballs are ready, add them to the sauce, tossing gently to coat each one evenly.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley, and your delightful Homestyle BBQ Meatballs are ready to be served.

Notes

These meatballs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or frozen for later use. Reheat in a saucepan or microwave.
