Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled Gives a rich, glossy fudgy texture.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Substitute coconut sugar for a deeper flavor.
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature helps the batter come together smoothly.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Brightens the chocolate.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Use 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons for ultra-fudgy brownies.
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder High-quality cocoa makes a big difference.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional, for extra pockets of melty chocolate.

Decoration

  • to taste white frosting or white chocolate For piping football laces.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment for easy lifting and clean edges. Lightly grease the paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until glossy. Add eggs one at a time, whisking until combined; stir in vanilla.
  • Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Gently fold the dry mixture into the wet batter until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips if using.

Baking

  • Spread batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20–25 minutes — the edges will look set and the center will still have a slight wobble.
  • A toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs, not dry.

Cooling and Decorating

  • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan. Remove using the parchment and transfer to a cutting board.
  • Trim edges if you like perfect football shapes. Use a small oval cookie cutter or freehand cut football shapes.
  • Pipe white frosting or melted white chocolate into laces to resemble tiny game-day treats.

Notes

For a nutty crunch: Fold in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans. Healthier option: Replace half the butter with mashed banana or pumpkin puree for moist brownies.
