Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Stir gently and cook for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.
Mixing
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Once the onions are caramelized and cooled slightly, fold them into the creamy mixture.
Chilling
  1. Cover the dip and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
Serving
  1. Scoop the dip into a serving bowl, sprinkle with fresh chives or parsley, and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Best served chilled, can be reheated carefully.
