Ingredients
  

For the Wontons

  • 1 package Wonton wrappers Use rice paper as a gluten-free alternative.
  • 1 pound Ground pork Substitute with chicken, beef, or tofu if desired.
  • 3 stalks Green onions Chopped for filling and garnishing.
  • 1 tablespoon Minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Minced ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce

For the Broth

  • 6 cups Chicken broth Choose low-sodium for a healthier option.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, ginger, and soy sauce. Mix until just combined.
  • Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold, and pinch to seal tightly.

Cooking

  • Bring the chicken broth to a gentle boil in a large pot. Add in a splash of soy sauce and a drizzle of sesame oil for added depth.
  • Gently drop the wontons into the boiling broth. Let them cook for about 5-6 minutes or until they float to the surface.
  • Ladle the soup into bowls, garnishing with extra green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds, if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can freeze uncooked wontons for later use.
