Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy – about 2 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla and red food coloring.
  • Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Chill your dough in the fridge for about 15 minutes.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and coat each ball generously with powdered sugar.
  • Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until crinkly and soft.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
