Preparation

  • Start by removing the outer leaves of the cabbage and cutting it into quarters.
  • Slice the quarters into thin strips.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil or butter.
  • Once the oil is shimmering, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Toss in the shredded cabbage, stirring occasionally. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika as it cooks.
  • Cook until the cabbage turns from bright green to tender and slightly golden, about a few minutes.
  • If using, drizzle in the apple cider vinegar and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and adjust seasoning if needed, then serve hot.

Notes

For a heartier meal, add protein like diced sausage or bacon. You can also include bell peppers or onions for extra flavor.
