  • 8 oz pasta Penne or farfalle is recommended, but any pasta will work.
  • 1 whole rotisserie chicken Shredded.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh is best, but frozen is suitable in a pinch.

Cream Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream Replace with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced for depth.
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese Use nutritional yeast for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Enhances garlic flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning.

Optional Garnishes

  • to taste fresh parsley or basil For added color and freshness.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Pasta

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.

Sautéing Broccoli

  • In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the broccoli florets and sauté for about 3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.

Adding Garlic

  • Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for another minute, being careful not to burn it.

Creating the Cream Sauce

  • Reduce heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir smoothly and allow it to simmer gently until it thickens.

Incorporating Chicken

  • Stir in the shredded rotisserie chicken and half of the Parmesan cheese, mixing well until heated through.

Combining Pasta

  • Add the cooked pasta to the creamy mixture. If it seems too thick, add reserved pasta water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.

Final Seasoning and Serving

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with the remaining Parmesan and fresh herbs, if using.
  • Serve immediately while hot and creamy.

Notes

For a healthier version, swap heavy cream for Greek yogurt. Use fresh herbs just before serving for added flavor. Taste and adjust seasonings as you go.
