Preparation

  • If using fresh spinach, wash it thoroughly and chop it coarsely.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.

Cooking

  • Add the chopped spinach to the skillet. Cook until wilted, about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Lower the heat and stir in the cream cheese, followed by the sour cream. Mix well until creamy and smooth.
  • Add the grated Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well combined and heated through.
  • Transfer your creamed spinach to a serving dish and enjoy while warm.

Notes

To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat gently on the stove over low heat, adding a splash of milk if necessary. For a lighter version, substitute cream cheese with Greek yogurt.
