For the Wrapping and Frying

  • 1 package wonton wrappers Ensure thawed if using frozen.
  • 2 inches vegetable oil For frying; can substitute with air-fryer oil.

For the Spicy Chili Dipping Sauce

  • 0.25 cup chili sauce Choose your favorite brand for a personal touch.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine cream cheese, green onions, and minced garlic. Stir until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
  • Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place a teaspoon of the cream cheese filling in the center of each wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrappers with a little water. Fold diagonally to create a triangle, ensuring they are tightly sealed to prevent bursting while frying.

Cooking

  • In a deep skillet, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
  • Gently add a few wontons at a time, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Make the Dipping Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix the chili sauce with a splash of soy sauce and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper for added kick.

Serving

  • Plate the crispy wontons, drizzle with the spicy chili sauce, and enjoy!

Notes

These wontons can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for 10 minutes at 350°F or use an air fryer.
