Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef Aim for 80/20 fat content for the juiciest experience.
  • 1 small Shallots, minced For a touch of subtle sweetness.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Always a necessary flavor enhancer.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Adds unforgettable depth.
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard For a little zing.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Essential for flavor enhancement.
  • 4 Burger buns Choose your favorite kind—brioche is particularly fabulous!
  • Cheese (optional) Cheddar or Swiss for that melty goodness.
  • Toppings: Lettuce, tomato, pickles, and your favorite sauces.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, minced shallots, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to gently mix until just combined—overmixing can lead to tough burgers.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions, gently shaping each patty to about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty—this helps them cook evenly and prevents them from puffing up.

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill (or stovetop skillet) over medium-high heat until hot. You want that satisfying sizzle when the patties hit the pan.
  • Place the patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. If using cheese, add a slice during the last minute of cooking to melt perfectly.
  • While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast your burger buns on the grill for that perfect crunch.

Assembly

  • Remove the burgers and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Then, place each patty on a bun and load up with your favorite toppings.
  • Take in that aroma, share a smile, and dig in!

Notes

For a truly delightful experience, serve your Crack Burgers with a side of homemade sweet potato fries or a fresh garden salad. Store leftover burgers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze uncooked patties before grilling; just separate them with parchment paper.
