Ingredients

Burger Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20 fat content) Aim for the juiciest experience.
  • 1 small Shallot, minced For a touch of subtle sweetness.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Always a necessary flavor enhancer.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Adds unforgettable depth.
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard For a little zing.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Essential for flavor enhancement.
  • 4 Burger buns Choose your favorite kind; brioche is recommended.
  • Cheese (optional, Cheddar or Swiss) For that melty goodness.
  • Toppings (Lettuce, tomato, pickles, your favorite sauces) Customize as you prefer.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, minced shallots, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to gently mix until just combined—overmixing can lead to tough burgers.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions, gently shaping each patty to about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty—this helps them cook evenly and prevents them from puffing up.
  • Preheat your grill (or stovetop skillet) over medium-high heat until hot. You want that satisfying sizzle when the patties hit the pan.

Cooking

  • Place the patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. If using cheese, add a slice during the last minute of cooking to melt perfectly.
  • While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast your burger buns on the grill for that perfect crunch.

Assembly

  • Remove the burgers and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Then, place each patty on a bun and load up with your favorite toppings.
  • Take in that aroma, share a smile, and dig in!

Notes

For best results, use quality meat, avoid overmixing, and let the burgers rest before serving to redistribute juices. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
