  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Consider using whole wheat or gluten-free flour.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth, leaving some lumps for texture.
  • Mix in the melted butter, stirring until combined.
  • Stir in the granulated sugar, then the egg, and finally the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  • Add the baking soda, salt, and cinnamon, mixing gently.
  • Gradually add the flour, folding until just combined. A few lumps are fine!
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and, if desired, some chopped nuts.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To keep fresh, store in an airtight container for up to four days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave or toaster.
