  • 2 tablespoons Black tea leaves Provides robust flavor; can use tea bags.
  • 2 cups Milk Use whole, almond, or oat for creaminess.
  • 1-2 teaspoons Chai spices (ground ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom) Homemade blend or store-bought.
  • to taste Sweetener Honey, sugar, or substitutes.

Preparation

  • Pour the water into a saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil.
  • Once boiling, sprinkle in the black tea leaves and let steep for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add in your chai spices and stir to combine.
  • Slowly add the milk and bring the mixture back to a light boil.
  • Turn down the heat and sweeten your Chai Latte to taste, adjusting as necessary.
  • Turn off the stove, strain the mixture into mugs, and serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to customize your Chai Latte with variations such as adding black pepper or using coconut milk for a tropical twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.
