  • 1 pound breakfast sausage Can substitute with turkey or plant-based alternatives.
  • 2 cups prepared sausage gravy Use store-bought or homemade.
  • 4 large eggs Whisked.
  • 1 cup milk Brings everything together.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For topping.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add the prepared gravy to the skillet with the sausage and stir until well combined, then set aside.
  • Cut each biscuit into quarters and arrange them evenly across the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the sausage gravy evenly over the biscuits, then pour the egg mixture over the gravy and top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Baking

  • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before serving.
