Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 4 pieces Salmon Fillets Fresh and flaky; use wild-caught for richer flavor.
  • ½ cup Balsamic Vinegar Opt for high-quality balsamic for deeper taste.
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Adds delightful sweetness that balances tanginess.
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced Flavor enhancer.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For sautéing; can substitute with avocado oil.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper Essential for seasoning.
  • to taste Fresh Herbs (thyme or rosemary) Optional; fresh is better than dried.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix together balsamic vinegar, honey, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  • Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Carefully place the salmon skin-side down in the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  • Gently flip the salmon and pour the balsamic mixture over the fillets. Let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes, spooning the sauce over the fish.

Serving

  • Remove from heat, drizzle with the remaining glaze, and sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For a zesty kick, add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard to the glaze. Consider using coconut aminos for a lighter version. Serve with pomegranate seeds for color.
