  • 1 pound cheese tortellini Fresh or frozen, can substitute with spinach tortellini.
  • 2 cups marinara sauce Use store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese Mascarpone can be used as an alternative.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Melty, gooey cheese is essential.
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese For a crispy golden top.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Fresh herbs like basil or oregano can enhance flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Essential for seasoning.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the tortellini according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked tortellini, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until combined.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the tortellini mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle half of the mozzarella on top.
  • Layer the remaining tortellini mixture over the cheese, followed by the rest of the mozzarella and the Parmesan on top.

Baking

  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Can be frozen before baking, thaw overnight before cooking. Reheat in the oven for best results.
