Ingredients
  

Pasta and Sauce Base

  • 2 cups Elbow Macaroni Classic pasta shape that holds the cheese beautifully.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Adds richness to the dish.
  • 4 tablespoons Flour Used for thickening the cheese sauce.
  • 2 cups Milk Whole milk works best for creaminess.

Cheese and Seasoning

  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded Gives a rich, cheesy flavor.
  • to taste Salt For seasoning.
  • to taste Pepper For seasoning.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Pasta

  • In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making the Cheese Sauce

  • In the same pot, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  • Whisk in 4 tablespoons of flour, stirring continuously for about 2 minutes until it forms a paste.
  • Gradually pour in 2 cups of milk while whisking continuously to avoid any lumps. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
  • Remove the pot from heat and stir in 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until smooth and gooey.

Combining and Serving

  • Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce, stirring well to combine.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve your delicious dish warm, or bake for a few minutes for a crispy top.

Notes

You can add vegetables or proteins for a hearty meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for longer storage.
