Who doesn’t like mashed potatoes??? This recipe is just 5 ingredients and always comes out delicious.
These fluffy mashed potatoes are a perfect easy-to-make side dish for your get-togethers/special occasions…or honestly any time.
Ingredients
Russet potatoes – the way to go for mashed potatoes. Yukon gold are good as well, though they do have slightly sweet and buttery flavor.
Vegan butter – adds a rich flavor and savoriness.
Unsweetened Non-Dairy Milk – adds creaminess and smooths out the texture of the mashed potatoes. Also, using an unsweetened milk is the best option. This is so that there is no sugar or added flavors that will throw off the savoriness of the mashed potatoes.
The key to get the best texture out of your potatoes is to use a whisk after mashing them. This will make them super fluffy, almost whipped even.

Creamy Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes washed, partially peeled*, and cut in half widthwise
- ¼ cup vegan butter
- 2 cups unsweetened non-dairy milk
- 1 tbsp salt
- ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
- chives for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook for 15-20 minutes, until fork tender. Drain the potatoes and transfer back into the pot.
- Using a masher, mash the potatoes just enough to break them down. Add the butter and mash until it's melted. Whisk in the nondairy milk, this will fluff up the potatoes. Add the salt and pepper. Taste for seasoning adjustments.
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chives. Done! Yummy mashed potatoes just like that, enjoy!
